Allan Bearnson Harmer passed away peacefully in his home October 2, 2021 after a short battle with cancer.

Allan was born on February 28, 1939 in Springville, Utah, to Wallace Giles Harmer and Wilma Gudney Bearnson. He was the second of five children in the family. Allan had 3 brothers: W. Gary Harmer (Marilyn), David Harmer (Ila Dawn), Steven Harmer, and 1 sister, Marie Poulson (Dan).

Allan spent his younger years working on the family farm where he learned the value of hard work and frugality that guided him throughout his life. He attended school in Springville where he graduated from Springville High School. On December 4, 1959 he married the love of his life, Patricia Ann, and they were blessed with 3 children: Brannon (JeNel), Kurt, and Kendalee (the late Harlen Garner), 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

The family was sealed for Time and All Eternity on March 22, 1980 in the Provo LDS Temple. Allan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and fulfilled many callings within the church, his favorite being a Young Men’s advisor, where he relished in teaching lifelong lessons and participating in outings.

Allan spent more than fifty years working as an Operating Engineer in the capacity of many positions. He also spent many years keeping the family farm going. He worked hard, but knew how to play hard too. He loved to spend time with his family in the boat on Utah Lake or riding motorcycles. Allan was a great man whose presence will be missed by so many. He always made sure you knew you were loved and how important you were in his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Gary and Steven, and his two grandchildren Rhiannon and Loughlin Garner. Services will be held in his honor on Saturday October 9, 2021 at noon at the Mapleton 8th Ward, 1000 West 1200 North, Mapleton.
