Obituary

Annette Janine Simon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful disciple of Jesus Christ, passed peacefully into the presence of her Heavenly Father on December 17, 2025, at the University of Utah Hospital, after a courageous journey marked by faith and grace. She was 57 years old.
Annette was born on April 20, 1968, in Carmel, California, to Hans Dieter Bienek and Sylvia Lou Bienek, both of whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Marco Antonio “Tony” Simon, her eternal companion and devoted partner in life.
Annette was a deeply loving and devoted mother to her children:
Janine Alessandra Pratt, and son-in-law Brenton Pratt
Marco Antonio Simon II (TJ), and daughter-in-law Bailey Simon
Hans Dieter Simon, and daughter-in-law Madi Simon
Brittany Sylvia Constanza Simon
She was a cherished grandmother to Hope, Andromeda, Hazel, Owen, Nash, Alessandra, and Lorenzo, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
Annette is also survived by her brother, Stephen G. Bienek.
Annette was the most loving and caring wife, mother, sister, and friend—always gentle, always sweet, and always willing to help others. Her life was defined by quiet service, compassion, and unwavering kindness. Family and faith were the center of her world, and she lived each day ready to serve the Lord and those around her.
She loved music and animals, and had a special bond with her beloved dog Drake, and her cats Tiger, Athena, and Poseidon, who brought her comfort and joy.
Annette earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Management and was especially proud of her professional accomplishments. She worked with dedication and integrity for Morgan Stanley, and previously for AT&T in Sacramento, California, earning the respect of colleagues and peers alike.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Annette lived her testimony through service. She joyfully served in the Primary in her ward in Bountiful and later in the library in Syracuse, blessing the lives of children and families through her quiet devotion.
The family finds peace in the promises of the gospel and the words of scripture:
“I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”
— John 11:25
“And I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father… if these things are not true… and by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.”
— Moroni 10:4–5
Annette’s legacy is one of love, faith, service, and enduring strength. Though deeply missed, her influence remains in the hearts of all who knew her, and her family takes comfort in the assurance of eternal families and a joyful reunion to come.
