Christopher “Chris” Roy Edwards, 59, passed away suddenly in Provo, Utah on January 19th, 2026.

Christopher was born May 14, 1966 in Boise, Idaho, becoming the last of three children adopted by Norman and Darlene Edwards. The family was sealed together at the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 11th, 1967. He was raised in Boise, Idaho, graduating from Boise High School in 1984. From 1985 to 1987, Chris served a faithful mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Chris attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University, graduating from BYU in 1992 with a degree in Entrepreneurship. He later used his business experience to open a successful IT business.

Chris had many passions in life. He followed many sports, always cheering for BYU and his Philadelphia Eagles. He enjoyed traveling, hiking, and skiing with his family. Each year he grew a vegetable garden with perfect homegrown tomatoes. Throughout his life, he listened to a wide variety of music and shared classics such as Van Halen, Steely Dan, and Little River Band with his children. He loved movie theater popcorn, Frank's RedHot sauce and pickled jalapeños. And of course, he had a wonderful sense of humor.

Of all the things he cherished, Chris cared most about others. He made fast friends and maintained many friendships throughout his life. He always wanted to serve; he volunteered for scout camps, ward activities, and church cleanings when no one else would. His home was always an open one. He housed friends and family members, and he loved to let the neighborhood children use his backyard playground.

Chris had a special place in his heart for his family. He loved to attend his nieces’ and nephews’ births, being present for every one. He selflessly opened his home to his widowed mother Darlene during her final years, where they spent quality time and avidly watched BYU sports together. His greatest honor was to be a father; he shared his children’s accomplishments with everyone he met and said that they were his greatest blessings.

Chris was compassionate, caring, loving, and attentive. He loved his Savior, and actively served in wards and congregations of the Church throughout his life. Above all, he lived for his family. Chris, you will be missed dearly. We will all miss your big smile, your jokes, your laughter, and your tears. You will forever be in our hearts. Until we meet again. Group hug! (“Squeezers!”)

Chris is survived by his children, Ethan Edwards and Estee Edwards, and his step children MaKenzie Candland (Adam), Jade Milner, and Madelyn Heperi (Liam). He is also survived by his siblings Elizabeth Purnell (David), Shelley Leach (Bill) and biological sister Deborah Argyle- Treiber (Tom). He was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Darlene Edwards, and by his biological mother Jacqulyn Argyle.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31 in the West Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 351 N 1200 W, Springville, UT. Services will commence at 11 am. The viewing will be held on Friday evening, January 30, at Spring Creek Mortuary, at 737 N Main St, Springville, UT, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. In honor of his wishes, following the services his body will be cremated, and his ashes will be scattered at Bryce Canyon in a private family ceremony.
