Donna Myrel Poteet Spencer passed away at her home on January 13th , 2026, surrounded by her family at the age of 85. Donna was born on October 11, 1940, in Lamesa, Texas, to Edna Earl Craddock Poteet McCombs and Henry David Poteet. She was an only child and lost her father at the age of seven. She later moved with her mother to California, where she spent her young adult years working as a dental assistant.

Donna eventually relocated to Utah, where she worked as an operating room technician at IHC, a career she greatly cherished. It was there that she met Herbert Spencer, with whom she shared many years and raised their family in Springville, Utah.

Donna was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She dedicated her life to caring for her family, often stepping in to raise and support her grandchildren and provide stability and opportunity during difficult times. She was the foundation of our family, and we will all hold on to the many cherished memories that we all know and love as our mom.

Donna was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Ann Floyd, and her son William Donie Maxwell. She is survived by her children: Terrie Lee Burgess, Randy Craig Floyd, Shane Abel Spencer, Raquel Lynn Espinoza, Jesse James Spencer, Taya Vanessa Pace, Brittany Ann Spencer, Skyler Scott Spencer, and Brandon Poteet Spencer, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses who lovingly cared for Donna in her home, and especially to her CNA, Andrea, whose kindness and care brought comfort to both Donna and her family.

A funeral service honoring the life of Donna will be held at her church, 860 East 200 North, Springville, UT 84663, on Saturday, January 17th at 9:30 am. Following the service, a graveside service and placement of flowers will take place at Payson City Cemetery. A luncheon for family and friends will follow at her church in Springville, concluding the service.
