Fredricka Louise Boice (Freddie Lou), our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Freddie Lou was born in Inglewood, California to Fred and Wanda Weske on August 7, 1939.
She graduated from Culver City High School in 1957. She married her sweetheart, Stephen Elwin Boice in the Los Angeles Temple on May 22, 1959.
Freddie Lou had many jobs outside of the home. She worked as a Bank Teller, Cafeteria Worker, School Nurse Assistant, Chiropractor Office Manager, Private School Administrator, Sees Candy Sales Associate and Library Clerk.
Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, quilting, cake decorating, calligraphy and reading.
She served in the LDS church as a Primary President and Relief Society President in multiple wards. She also served as an early morning Seminary Teacher, Cub Scout Leader, Young Women Advisor, Nursery Leader, and had multiple Teaching Callings.
Her community service included being a volunteer at the Salt Lake City Olympics and Paralympics as well as providing countless hours of personal service to her family , friends and neighbors.
She is survived by three children; Jeff (Carla) Boice, Katie Boice King, Alison (Kent) Johnson; Ten grandchildren, Carissa (Jayden) Davis, Tanner Boice, Matt (NaTasha) King, Shelby Boice, Jen (Jared) Banks, Zachary Johnson, Spencer (Ana) Johnson, Kristen (Mike) Merrell, Holly King, and Reagan Johnson; seven great-grandchildren; Rhenn King, Kacy Jo King, Reese Davis, Rowan Banks, Matilda Davis, Brandt Banks and Ashlynn Merrell.
She is also survived by her brother, Bob Weske, her sister-in-law, Debbie Weske, widow of deceased brother, Greg Weske, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel, 860 E 200 N, Springville, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday, July 23, from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Spring Creek Mortuary, 737 N Main Street, Springville, Utah and at the LDS Church, one hour prior to the service. The burial will be at the Historic Springville Cemetery on Monday, July 26.
