Meaningful Gift Ideas

Glenn F (Round man) Gifford, 69, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 12, 2021 in Provo, Utah. Glenn was born in Cedar City, Utah to Frank and Shirley Gifford on April 3,1952. He was the second born, oldest (and favorite) brother of 6 children. He met his bride, Charlene Kot, in 1977 at an auto mechanics class in Albany NY and married that same year in Henderson, NV. They credit a snowstorm to that chance meeting. They have been happily married, (and driving each other crazy) for 40 years. Glenn loved Charlene as much today as on their wedding day, always referring to her as his bride and wifey.

Glenn is the father of 7 (loud) children, Jennifer Pena-Garzon (Javier Pena-Garzon), Benjamin (Rachel Mohler Gifford), Byron, Sarah, Lauren, Marc, Gavin, and two honorary children, Troy Adkins and Zack Hoppe. He has four (funny and amazing) grandchildren, Cody, Carlee, Alex, and Isabelle.

Glenn raised his family in Henderson, NV, and moved to Utah after a brief stay in Albany, NY. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved reading his scriptures. After starting work as a janitor at the Las Valley Water District, he made his way up the ladder to being a Water Treatment Supervisor. He retired from the Water District after 34 years in 2004.

He is preceded in death by his parents and little brother, Craig. His family likes to joke that his mother, Shirley, has been waiting for him in her curlers and bathrobe to 'chew him out'. Though he spent a large portion of his life sick, he was a very jolly person and loved to joke with everyone. he was a huge presence in the loves of those who loved him and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 20 2021, with a 10 am viewing and 11 am service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel at 760 N 500 E Springville, UT 84663.
