Jaime Burnett Brimhall was born a fighter. On December 12, 1971 he was born in Provo, Utah to Richard and LaPriel Brimhall. He was a month and a half early, and only weighed 3 lbs 8 oz. When he was 3 months old, his nanny in Chilé gave him too many opium drops by accident. His parents told her no more than one or two drops to help him stop crying due to some complications from his early birth. They rushed him to the hospital and the doctors told his parents that he would not live. By morning, Jaime woke up and was completely fine. He was a miracle baby. The last two weeks of his life he was fighting to stay on earth. On September 19, 2021 according to God’s will, he returned home to our Heavenly Father.
Jaime is a friend to everyone. He had a way of making people feel welcomed and special. If you knew him, you loved him. Jaime served a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Chilé Viña Del Mar mission. He faithfully served the Lord, and touched the hearts of many. He attended Brigham Young University and University of Phoenix where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems/Business. During his time at Brigham Young University, he met the love of his life Teresa Dickens. She is his everything, and he treated her like a queen until the day he passed. They were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 24, 1994. Jaime and Teresa were blessed with 6 beautiful children: Katelyn, Amanda, Seth, Hayley, Ella, and Mason as well as 2 amazing sons-in-law Chandler and Colton.
Jaime is well known for his testimony of the Savior and the Gospel. He made it a priority to share his testimony with as many as he could and center his family around the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He served faithfully in many callings in the church and loved every single one. His most cherished calling was serving and loving the Boy Scouts and helping them work towards becoming an Eagle Scout like he did.
Jaime is a family man. He loved spending quality time with his children and wife. Some of his favorite activities were going outside in the backyard hammocking, hiking, biking, or watching his favorite movies with popcorn and Cherry Coke. His favorite place in the world was the B-13 Ranch in Pinedale, Arizona spending time with his hundreds of relatives. His sense of humor will never be matched, he had a way of lightening the mood and could make anyone laugh, whether it was because of his jokes, funny faces, or pranks.
Jaime possessed many Christlike attributes. Two qualities that he demonstrated each day was serving and loving everyone he came in contact with. To list a few examples: snow blowing the neighbors driveways at 6am, letting people borrow his beloved green 1997 Toyota Tacoma, opening doors for strangers, etc. He was the prime example of a good Samaritan to anyone who was in need.
He was excited to have some of his older children starting to get married because he looked forward to becoming a Grandpa. Even though he won’t have the opportunity to be on earth with his grandkids, we know that he will send each one down with a little piece of him.
Jaime is survived by his wife Teresa, 6 children: Katelyn (Chandler) Beck, Amanda (Colton) Tester, Seth, Hayley, Ella, and Mason. His parents Richard Logan Brimhall and Ivy LaPriel Brimhall, and all 8 siblings and their families. He was preceded in death by his niece Hannah Elizabeth Brimhall.
Jaime will be missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family and those that he influenced. We feel such peace knowing that we are an eternal family, and that we will be reunited with him again someday. We love you Jaime/ Pops/ Mito! 123!
In Jaime’s words “What it comes down to is love, true, honest love.”
