Kelsy Ann Flanders, 23, of Mapleton, Utah returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 27, 2021. She passed peacefully in her sleep from natural causes.

Kelsy was born November 8 1998 in Provo Utah to Eric J. and Shelly Flanders. She graduated from Maple Mountain High School with high honors. As a junior high student, she received the Great Kids Award from the Utah County Chamber of Commerce. While at Maple Mountain, Kelsy participated in marching band, concert band, orchestra and choirs. She played the flute and piccolo in band, the viola in orchestra. She was the first student to ever participate in all three performing groups at the same time. Kelsy also played piano, ukulele, and Native American flute.

Kelsy was active in FFA, FCCLA, and Pit Orchestra for school musicals. She performed with The American Rhythm Folk Ensemble from Provo, Utah.

Kelsy attended one semester at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. She then transferred to Utah Valley University in Orem, where she received her associate degree in general education, and continued to pursue a bachelor's degree in Political Science.

While attending UVU she was chosen to be a member of the First Global Leadership Council as well as a member of the Women’s Leadership Academy. She was looking forward to a spring trip to the UN in New York City with the GLC and a study abroad at Cambridge University in England this summer.

Kelsy worked and gained many friends at Fantastic Sam's, Get Out Games, Heber Hatchets, and as an office assistant in the Academic Teaching Labs at UVU.

Kelsy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. She served in the California, Irvine Mission, and also performed a service mission as a Family History Consultant at the Mapleton Family History Library. She served in many different callings in her young woman's organization and Young Single Adult wards.

Kelsy had an eclectic hobby list, including both vocal and instrumental music. She had a deep love of books, art, and geek fandoms, especially Harry Potter and Doctor Who. Kelsy loved to play board, card, and video games with her family and wide circle of friends. She especially liked Dungeons and Dragons. She loved to write, draw, and paint. Though she was humble about her work, it has always been treasured by her family and friends.

By far, the most important thing in her life were the people she loved; her family and friends, especially her young cousin, Clara Barney, of Springville, whom she affectionately called, "Clarabug."

Kelsy is survived by her parents, Eric J. and Shelly Flanders, of Mapleton; her grandfathers, Edward M. Wiscombe of Springville, Utah and Edward “Ted” Flanders of Enfield, CT, her great grandmother, Elizebeth Jane Flanders, her uncles, Jason S. Flanders(Cyndi) of Port Charlotte, FL, Edward M. Wiscombe, Jr. (Melissa) of Orem, UT, and her aunt, Stacy Barney (Todd) of Springville. She is survived by many friends, who, to Kelsy, were all considered family. She was preceded in death by Grandmothers Shirlene Wiscombe and Noelle Flanders.
