Sandra Kay Sheikh

Price, Utah - Sandra Kay Martinez Sheikh, Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Sandra Kay Martinez Sheikh, 65, passed away peacefully on June 20th, 2019 in her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born April 22nd, 1954 in Dragerton, Utah to Joe C. Martinez and Margaret Martinez. She married Khalid Sheikh in Elko, Nevada on April 1st, 1975.

Sandra was a proud graduate of East Carbon High School. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active parishioner of the Notre Dame De Lourdes Catholic Church of Price, where she led the teen youth group and taught catechism classes for many years. Sandra was an avid bingo player, excellent cook and dear friend to many.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Khalid Sheikh, also of Price. Children: Jeremy Sheikh, Kamille Sheikh and Joseph Sheikh, all of Salt Lake City and one grandson, Xander Sheikh. Sisters: Gloria Sasaki of San Jose, California and Corrina Doporto of St. George.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth Martinez.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, June 27th, 2019 at 11:00 am at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church (210 N Carbon Ave, Price). The family will be at the church at 10:30 am to greet people. Interment will follow the mass at the Cliffview Cemetery (1800 East 800 North, Price). Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
