It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shiloh Jay Edsitty. He died in a car crash on the morning of Sunday, August 15th, 2021 in Linn County, Oregon. He was 29 years old.

Shiloh was born on January 17th, 1992, in St. George Utah. He was born into the 'Áshįįhi (Salt People Clan), born for Haltsooi (Meadow People Clan) in the Navajo Tribe.

At 5 months, he began living with the Fisher family of St. George, Utah, at the request of his mother on a temporary foster basis. What was to be a brief 2 week situation turned into a lifetime journey. Shiloh grew up with the Fishers along with most of their 8 other children.

During this time Shiloh was able to become close to many of the family and form a brotherly bond with all of them. He was always happy, and his smile and sense of humor became infectious to others.

Shiloh loved reading, listening to music and bonding with lyrics. He had commented to others that one could throw every other thing of his away, but not his books. He practiced rap and beat boxing with lyrics from his own life. His poetry reveals someone who was thoughtful, introspective and loved to consider the philosophy of life, and showed a desire and curiosity to explore the human condition.

Shiloh graduated from Sparks High School in Reno, Nevada. Shiloh earned his welding certification at Tooele Technical College. He excelled at welding, and it provided him with means to support himself and his family.

Shiloh loved his 4-year-old son Ryot and moved to Albany, Oregon to live near him. In difficult times, the birth of his son Ryot brought smiles, hugs and love into his life and made him a loving and caring father. He posted consistently on his social media about his son. Every picture of Shiloh and Ryot radiated happiness to the world around him. He cared deeply for Ryot and was endeavoring to see him live a happy, connected and fulfilling life.

Shiloh is survived by his son Ryot Edsitty, Ryot’s mother Reyia Novacek and the Fisher family: Frank Fisher, Vivian & Andrew Pulley, Janet Fisher McLain and Doug McLain, Julie Fisher Robertson & Nate Robertson, Jeff & Becky Fisher, Brent Fisher, Mikelle Fisher, Rachelle Fisher Brady, Marc & Chelsi Fisher & Maelena Fisher. Shiloh is also survived by his grandfather Ned Edsitty and 3 sisters: Tushar Edsitty, Novia Edsitty and Jailynn Edsitty.

Shiloh is preceded in death by his mother Teresa May Tilden, his father Nedford Edsitty and his grandmother, Pearl S. Edsitty.
